The FMHS Choir Boosters are pleased to provide, within our budget constraints, financial assistance for private voice study. The Boosters understand the importance that one-on-one assistance gives in order to facilitate improvement in both solo and ensemble vocal performance.
Voice lessons require commitment and dedication. As a token of that dedication, the Boosters require that students on scholarship pay 50% of their voice lesson costs. We also require that students on scholarship perform at the LISD solo and ensemble contest.
We know that all students enter into voice lessons with a positive work ethic. On rare occasions, however, it may be necessary to remove a student from the scholarship program, based on the feedback of the private voice teacher, if it becomes abundantly clear that that the student in question is not practicing or is showing a negative attitude about lessons in general. Assistance for scholarships should only be made if there is a clear need.
